Message from new Acting Secretary General

My name is Katsuaki Kawano. I was appointed as Acting Secretary General by the Chairperson, Dr. Amron on June 14, 2010 according to the charter. First of all, I would like to express my thanks to Mr. Kubota, the former Secretary General, for his great contributions to NARBO activities during his 1 year and 2 month tenure..

I'll try to do my best to fulfill the duties for the further development of NARBO activities together with the secretariat under the guidance of the Chairperson and the Vice-Chairperson.

I worked at a waste-water sector in a private company for long years before I came to JWA, NARBO Secretariat. Also I supervised a technology sector in an environment-related project few years ago. So I have many experiences regarding water environment-related issues that most of NARBO member organizations have. In order to promote NARBO activity, I would like to participate in discussions and share my experiences with all the members in addition to working as Acting Secretary General.

I am looking forward to seeing you at the 4th NARBO General Meeting held this year. I will work hard with all the members to make this General Meeting a valuable one. I would expect your positive support.
