1. Update of the information of the 4th Asia -Pacific Water Summit

This NARBO Newsletter has already introduced that the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit (4th APWS) will be held at Kumamoto-Jo Hall in Kumamoto City, Japan on 23rd and 24th April 2022.
The event is just around the corner. So this newsletter will inform you of the latest information again. Currently, Kumamoto Castle, which is the symbol of this area, is lit up in blue to enhance the momentum for the event.
The new Home Page for 4th APWS has been opened.on 2nd April. We recommend you to actively visit this website to find out what's new in 4th APWS.
On the 1st day of the summit you can find “showcase” session on the program from 17:10-18:40. At the showcase, Dr. Ir. M. Basuki Hadimulijono, the first chairperson of NARBO, Minister for Public Works and Public Housing of Indonesia, will introduce the efforts on water-related issues in Indonesia.
In addition, Japan Water Agency (JWA) will set up an exhibition booth called "Sustainable Water Resources Management and Cooperation for Existing Dam Upgrading “.
On the top of the HP, you can entry on-line registration from 20th April. We expect all members to see the success of the event

2. Indonesia has been selected as the host country for the 10th World Water Forum.

Bali,Indonesia was selected as the host country for the 10th World Water Forum in 2024 at the Board of Directors of the 9th World Water Forum held in Dakar, Senegal from 21st to 26th March 2022.
It is the first time that The World Water Forum will be held in Southeast Asia. Indonesia will be the third country to be held in Asia, following Japan (2003) and South Korea (2015).
Dr. Ir. M. Basuki Hadimulijono attended a voting process in Senegal. The result was that Indonesia got 30 votes and Italy, the rival country, got 1 vote.
WWF is the international conference on water, which is held once every 3 years, hosted by WWC. The first WWF was held in 1997. The establishment of NARBO was announced at the 3rd Kyoto Convention in 2003.
We hope that NARBO can also contribute to the success of the forum in Indonesia.

3. NARBO Webinar

We would like to hold the next NARBO webinar, in order to introduce the results of 4th APWS to NARBO members
Tentative agenda is as follows. The middle of May is expected date for Webinar, But it is not fixed

It takes about 2 hours.
This Webinar is supposed to forces "Climate Change and floods mitigation”, same as the 1st Webinar.
NARBO is a valuable information network for practitioners. We will make an effort to hold it regularly. Thank you for your continued support.
