Dr. Mark Smith, Director General of IWMI, visited JWA Headquarters.
When JWA staff visited IWMI in Colombo, Sri Lanka in September 2025 to exchange opinions, we asked them to visit JWA HQ should they have the opportunity to come to Japan. This request was realized.
Dr. Smith spoke about IWMI's initiatives and activities, while Director General of International Affairs, Mr. Ichihara, introduced JWA's work, cutting-edge technological developments in water resource development and management, and shared information about NARBO's activities.
As Dr. Smith did not have sufficient time, we were unable to show him the water resource management facilities managed by Japan Water Agency this time, but promised to take IWMI on a tour of these facilities on their next visit to Japan.
