Following last year’s visit, JWA staff visited MASL again in September 2025 to exchange opinions with MASL staff and tour the water resource facilities owned by MASL.
MASL explained how they have successfully renovated and continued to use ancient tanks up to the present day, as well as their projects to channel water from basins with heavy rainfall to arid regions, their hydroelectric power generation projects using the power of private companies, and the support they provide to improve farmers' livelihoods. JWA staff observed that MASL manages water resources more closely with farmers than JWA.
Water use in Sri Lanka is very efficient, and we witnessed farmers expressing deep gratitude to MASL for improving their livelihoods, giving us a firsthand look at MASL's contributions to local residents.
